Share the Warmth 2025

Winter is coming Join us at our annual Share the Warmth fundraiser on Friday, November 7th! Funds raised at this fun, casual event ensure that AmeriCorps St. Louis can provide no-barrier emergency winter shelter when a night on the streets may be life threatening. This event has it all - chili cookoff, raffle prizes, and heart warming stories about the impact our services have on the community. We hope to see you there! Have items to donate? You can drop them off at the event!

On April 27th our community came together to celebrate all we’ve accomplished over the past 30 years! A Message from Our Founders

While our founders Bruce Bailey and Kathleen Becherer were not able to join us in person for our 30th Anniversary Celebrations, we’re grateful for the words they shared with us which were read at the event by ACSTL alumni Jimmy Truschel.

“Greetings from Bruce Bailey and Kathleen Becherer, founding directors of AmeriCorps St. Louis. Boy is it exciting to know that you guys are celebrating 30 years of service!

We asked Jimmy, a best of friends and alum, to convey our thoughts and memories with you during your celebration. If Bruce were with you, and we both really really wish we were with you, he would be shouting out “Oceeoo”.

Happy AmeriCorps Week! Today we’re spotlighting one of our amazing program alums, Bre Orcasitas. Bre served with our program from 1998 - 2002. Since then, she has gone on to a long career in the wildland fire community, holding various positions with the US Forest Service, and now works to train and advocate for others in the field.
